Whangaroa Big Game Fish Club’s Redwoods Contest Rules 2009-10

1. Entrants must be a financial member of the club.
2. Entry fees must be paid prior to fishing.
3. Fees must be put in an entry form envelope which is available within and outside the club. During working hours it can be handed in or posted in the letterbox. Outside of working hours it must be posted in the letterbox.
4. Entry fees can be paid in advance by post for nominated days fishing using the entry slip below. Advance fees are not added to the jackpot until the nominated dates arrive. If the jackpot is won before you go fishing, your fee can be reclaimed within two weeks.
5. Entry fee is $10 per boat, per days fishing in the competition. This covers all anglers aboard.
6. Fish must be weighed in at Whangaroa weigh station, the same day as capture.
7. Line from the rod used to catch the fish will be tested for tensile strength and an over-test will disqualify the catch.
8. The prize consists of $500, plus the money accumulated from entry fees paid up to and including the day of capture. The initial jackpot money is doubled to $1000 if the winning fish is also accepted as the first fish nationally.
9. When leaving the harbour, please radio the club rooms on Channel 62 and mention that you have entered the Redwoods Contest.
10. Fishing area is from Cape Brett to North Cape.
